Vanish In Plain Sight by Marta Perry

Book Description:
Since she was a little girl, Marisa Angelo has been haunted by the image of her mother walking          away, suitcase in hand, to return to her Amish roots.
Marisa and her “Englischer” father never saw or heard from her again. Now Marisa has received a shocking call from police. Her mother’s bloodstained suitcase was found hidden inside the wall of an Amish farmhouse.

Desperate for answers, Marisa heads to Lancaster County. But no one—not the police or Marisa’s tight-lipped Amish relatives—can explain what happened to her mother.
Only one man is as determined as Marisa to unravel the mystery— Link Morgan, the handsome ex-military loner who found the suitcase in the house he inherited from his uncle. Because both Link’s and Marisa’s family members are implicated in the decades-old disappearance.

The secret lies somewhere in the quaint Amish settlements. But someone will do anything to ensure the truth remains hidden forever.
My Review:
I love a great suspense novel.  One that leaves the reader wondering how did the author think of that?!?!
This book, Vanish In Plain Sight by Marta Perry, is one of those grandtastic suspense novels without all the guts, gore and gruesomeness of a thriller.
Marisa was just five when her mother took her suitcase and left her and her dad.
Years later, Link is remodeling his inherited house when he finds a packed suitcase.  He immediately calls the local sheriff who comes and takes the suitcase in as evidence.  Spots are found on the outside of the case and it looks like blood!
Marisa has no interest inLink other than he found a suitcase in his uncle's house that may have belonged to her Amish mother.
Link has no interest in Marisa except to see her not get hurt.
Link has "issues" from being in the military and longs to be"normal" after the war torn area he still sees in his dreams.
Marisa longs to know the truth about her mother and her disappearance.  And why can't she get ahold of her dad?  Where has he taken off to?
Secrets in the amish community can only be unraveled if Link and Marisa will work together!
Loved this read!  Loved the mystery, the suspense and even the sweet romance!  If you love to read about the Amish with a good mystery to boot then this is the read for you!
About the Author:
Marta Perry realized she wanted to be a writer at age eight, when she read her first Nancy Drew novel. Most girls reached the end of that book wanting to be Nancy. Marta wanted to be the person who created the story.
The dream lay hidden for years while she pursued other career goals, but eventually it re-surfaced, and she began to write, beginning with short children’s stories for Sunday school take-home papers. After seeing hundreds of her short stories published in a variety of magazines, Marta finally started work on the novel she’d always wanted to write. Thirty-some published novels later, she still feels the same excitement when she begins a new book.
A lifetime spent in rural Pennsylvania and her own Pennsylvania Dutch roots led Marta to the books she writes now about the Amish. The Pleasant Valley Amish series from Berkley Books are longer, more complex emotional stories with Amish main characters, while her Love Inspired suspense stories are shorter, more adventure-filled books set in Pennsylvania Dutch country. She also writes a Love Inspired series, The Bodine Family, set on the South Carolina coast where she and her husband have a second home.
Marta lives with her husband in a century-old farmhouse in the Pennsylvania countryside, but spends winters at their vacation home in South Carolina. When she’s not writing, she’s active in the life of her church and enjoys traveling and spending time with her three children and six beautiful grandchildren.
