The Complete Zoo Adventure {A Field Trip In A Book} by Mary & Gary Parker

Book Description:  With sections focused on preparing for the trip, learning while at the zoo, and activities to reinforce what you learn, The Complete Zoo Adventure is a great way for homeschoolers or any family to direct a field trip or to just learn about God's creation in the classroom. Perfect for all ages, this guide has checklists, connect-the-dot pictures, word finds, fact cards, a field journal, and more in the activity section. A great way to make learning fun, the guide also includes Scripture memory text listings to show kids that God's creation is found throughout the Bible.

My Review:  I'm so glad I found MasterBooks/New Leaf Publishers!  They have "produced" the most amazing books ever!  All of the books that we have received from them have been phenomenal!  And this book is no different!  In fact, I didn't think that the books could get any better....I was so wrong!
The Complete ZOO ADVENTURE, a Field Trip In A Book is simply fantastic.  The first section begins with Before the Zoo and includes a Devotional (there are seven devotionals for each day of the week), How to use this book (your tool kit).                                                                                  Your field tool kit also includes:
  • 27 Field Fact Cards

  • 7 Biome Cards

  • 3 Field Journals

  • 12 Name Badges                                                                                                                                   and then field trip Prep Time.

  • Section 2 is about At the Zoo. An assignment is included, Hooty's Smart Rules & Tips are included so that children (and adults) may have a fun/safe experience.  "Zoos are like life's creation adventures.  If you follow the path and keep the rules, then at the end of the day you have many happy returns!"
Section 3 is about birds.  The pictures in this book are pop.out.amazing!
Section 4 tells us all about Mammals with Paws and Claws.  There are verses intermingled with facts about these amazing animals.
Section 5 brings Mammals With Hooves.  Again scripture with animal facts are in these fabulous section.
Section 6 is all about Reptiles.  I liked reading facts about the Komodo Dragon.  "Dragon' is a word used in the Bible and many historical books for scaly-skinned animals whose description often match those of dinosaurs."
And then Section 7 is all about Amphibians with Deeper Discussion questions included at the end of the section.
The last section, After The Zoo, wraps up the wonderful field trip.  And then there are Biome (Ecology cards in an attached packet) at the very back of the book.  These colorful, fact filled cards are incredible!
This fabulous book is great for children studying animals, before going to the zoo or simply as a resource for learning about zoo animals.  This book is a must have for the homeschool or classroom that will be visiting the zoo as a field trip!  It will help your child "to get a feel" for the animals that will be at the zoo and maybe, after studying this book children will have a better appreciation for God's creation.
