Book Description: US Secret Service Special Agent Luke Powell is lucky to be alive. Three of his fellow agents have died in unusual circumstances in the past ten weeks. Luke is devastated by the loss of his friends and colleagues, and his inability to locate the killer feels like a personal failure. He's an expert at shielding others, but now the protectors are in need of protection. FBI Special Agent Faith Malone is driven to succeed and confident in her ability to solve every case she's assigned. She's been put in charge of the investigation into the unprecedented attacks, and with Luke's life in danger, the stakes have never been higher. But it's hard to know how to fight back when you don't know who the enemy is.
My Thoughts: Lynn Blackburn is a new to me author. This is the first book I've had the pleasure of reading that she has authored. I'm happy to say that it won't be the last book I read by her.
Luke and Faith aren't exactly bosom buddies but when odd things begin to happen and people as in Secret Service agents begin to die in unusual ways then Faith and Luke have to come together to find the unknown threat when Faith is placed in charge of the investigation.
I got so caught up in the threat/the unknown threat. It was such an interesting "thing" that is happening in this town to these agents.
It was somewhat like reading today's headlines.
Faith is somewhat tough with straight-line vision. She knows what she wants and she wants to get it done.
Luke is a bit more laid back but he is a driven soul too.
What a read! What a mystery!
I loved this story! And I loved Luke and Faith. What a mixture of faith and love.
