WOW {Warm Oven Wednesday}

Pecan Cherry Bread (Taken from Amish Cooking Class Cookbook)
Ingredients:
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 jar (10 ounces) maraschino cherries, drained and chopped
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions:
Cream butter then add sugar until thoroughly incorporated. Add eggs, one at a time, stirring well after each. In separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt. Add dry ingredients to butter and egg mixture alternately with buttermilk. Stir in pecans, cherries, and vanilla. Pour into a greased and floured 8 x 4 loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 65 to 75 minutes.
