Book Description: Sadie enjoys her freedom away from home and her mission trips to Peru, but after four years, her Old Order Amish family insists it’s time to come home and settle down. Levi, a bachelor who distrusts women after a family heartbreak, also has no desire for romance. To keep their families from meddling in their lives, Sadie and Levi devise a plan—but soon discover that the walls around their hearts are breaking down. Can they let go of their prejudices, learn to trust each other, and embrace a future together?
My Thoughts: There's just something exciting about receiving a pretty hardbound book. So, when I received this book, The Dawn of Christmas, I felt like Christmas had come early to my house.
Not only is this a nice book but the content is wonderful, too.
The story of a young lady, Sadie. Four years earlier Sadie "caught" her intended groom, Daniel and Aquilla, "cheating on her. Oh!so!sadly Sadie runs off "the laughter of their future children silenced." (p.3)
Sadie's parents with Sadie's consent decide that this would be a great time for her to go on a mission's trip with the Mennonites.
Sadie has been away for four years when her parents decide that it's time for her to come home and get married. oh!joy!
This is a great read . . . the betrayal, the romance, the Amish way of life, the hardened bachelor . . . well, I could go on and on but why don't you just read this grand story for yourself? {enjoy!}
This book makes a wonderful gift, too, for that romantic Amish reader on your list. {smile}
