My Thoughts:  Wow!  and agin Wow!  This is some Bible!

I picked this Bible because it's King James and it's the Spirit-Filled Life

Bible.  It's also two-toned.  Dark brown on the outer part of the Bible and a lighter, almost mocha color(some see it as burgundy but I see it as mocha) on the remaining cover.

I am amazed at how well put together this Bible is written with revisions and updates.

There are more than 650 word studies, including more than 100 new ones, which shed light on key terms.  

There are Kingdom Dynamics which biblical notes addressed by spirit filled preachers.

Truth In Action includes handy & helpful charts for practical application.

Praying the Word 192 helps for guided prayers based on Scripture.

Vers-by-verse study notes explain every Scripture and illuminates the Scripture for one's understanding.

Also includes color charts and maps and a wonderful detailed concordance.

This is a FANTASTIC study Bible for Kingdom Equipping through the power of the Word.

A Secret to Die For by Lisa Harris

My Thoughts: I'm like a kid at Christmas when I receive a book in the mail especially one from a favorite author.  

If you like a good roller coaster ride then you'll love this story.

From the beginning Grace Callahan has a secret, actually a dangerous secret.  But she can't "do this" on her own so she enlists the help of her friend, Nate Quinn.

This story is all about running and running out of time.  Grace and Nate must not let this insane person who thinks Grace has more information take out the whole electric grid.
This thriller is one that leaves the reader constantly on the edge.  This is one of those stories where one cannot turn the pages fast enough. . . a page turner trying to figure a way out before we all perish.
A little romance mixed in with a hole lot of action and suspense.

Andi Unexpected (An Andi Boggs Novel) by Amanda Flower

Book Description:  Twelve-year-old Andora 'Andi' Boggs and her fourteen-year-old sister Bethany move to rural Ohio to live with their eccentric twenty-something aunt after the sudden death of their parents. While dealing with her grief, Andi discovers proof of another Andora Boggs in the family tree whose existence was hidden in a Depression-era trunk in the attic. With help from her new friend and neighbor, Colin Carter, Andi is determined to find out who this first Andora was and what happened to her.

My Thoughts:  Andora "Andi"  Boggs and her sister are left as orphans when their parents are killed in a plane crash.  Now, the girls are left in the care of their aunt, Amelia. Amelia is only in her twenties and not parent material…but for all of her quirks and mess ups she does a fairly good job with the girls.

This is a "fun" mystery.  I enjoy Amanda Flower's easy way with words.  This story has a flair that stems from the "early days" when kids could roam freely from one place to another without fear of predators.  So, with this in mind Andi and her neighbor, Colin, find a trunk with "leadings" to the first Andora.

As an adult I liked this mystery so I think that most 9 -12 year olds (maybe even some early teens)  would enjoy this clean mystery.  And it's such a nice hardback book - great for gift giving!

Hidden Among the Stars by Melanie Dobson

My Thoughts:  I love to read about WWII.  the way people of one faith helped others of a persecuted faith really makes my eyes well up with tears of faith and gratitude.

Because Hitler and his armies sweep into Vienna, Austria Max Dornbach enlists the aide of his friend, Annika Knopf, to help save his Jewish friends and a lot of their valuables.

Wow! And Wow again!  

Some things seem easier said than done as Max soon finds out.

Not only is Annika there to help him but he decides that Luzia should hide out at the estate too.  Only Luzia is a Jew.  

And it seems that Annika has loved Max for a very long time so when Luzia arrives Annika's feelings can put all of The hiding Jews and the valuables in great jeopardy.

Oh!  I loved this story!

And because this book has all the Veggie Tales characters there is a lot of laughter and exclamations when the teacher is reading the story.

Children love a story that they can relate with.

There are nine short stories.  Yes, they all are about five minutes long which is a perfect time for for short attention spans. 

We love this book and even though we've been through the book once we'll go through it many more times with lots of laughter.

WOW {Warm Oven Wednesday}

I FOUND ANOTHER GREAT RECIPE FORM PINTEREST . . .THIS IS AN EASY AND DELICIOUS MEAL:  

INGREDIENTS

• 1 - 3-4 lb. chuck roast, remove excess fat (when I'm in a hurry I just use roast beef luck meat form the deli)
• Montreal Steak Seasoning
• 2 olive oil
• 1/4 C soy sauce
• 1/4 C water
• 4 whole black peppercorns
• 2 C beef broth
• 1/2 tsp dried, crushed rosemary
• 1/2 tsp dried thyme
• 1 TBSP minced onion
• 2 tsp minced garlic
• 6-8 french rolls
• 6-8 slices of cheese, provolone is my preference

INSTRUCTIONS

• Remove excess fat from roast.
• Sprinkle with Montreal Steak Seasoning
• Brown in heavy pan with 2 tsp olive oil. Brown on both sides
• Place in crock pot
• Mix together soy sauce, beef broth, water, peppercorns, rosemary, thyme, garlic, onion
• Pour mixture over roast.
• Cook on low for 8-10 hours or high for 5-6. Cook until tender and easy to shred.
• Shred with a fork and the place on sandwich buns.
• Strain remaining juice and use for dipping
