In Too Deep {Kincaid Brides Book 2} by Mary Connealy

Book Description:  In 1866 Colorado, Ethan Kincaid agrees to a marriage of convenience with the same casual disregard he gives every decision. Audra Gilliland, young mother of two, accepts his proposal because she wants to stop being a burden to her newly married stepdaughter. And suddenly both of them are in far deeper than they'd planned.
Ethan doesn't expect Audra to affect him so profoundly, and when she begins to, he's terrified of the pain he's felt before when someone he loved was seriously injured on his watch. He's determined that his new wife will do as he says so he can keep her safe from the dangers that lurk on their ranch. Audra has been cared for all her life by one man or another--and they've done a poor job of it. Now she's planning to stand up for herself. And her new husband had better agree or get out of her way! What will it take to transform two wayward hearts fearful of getting in too deep into two trusting hearts ready to risk falling deeply in love?
My Review:  Having Read Out of Control the first book of the Kincaid Brides by Mary Connealy I was ready to find out more .... this time about Audra, Ethan and Maggie.
Audra is determined to prove herself.  Ethan is quite lackadaisical about his life...well, until Audra.  And then Maggie, Audra's toddler runs off and Ethan saves her from a certain death and this is just in the first chapter!
Then Audra fears that she is being a burden to her stepdaughter, Julia.  Then Julia's husband, Rafe, decides that one of the "boys" needs to marry Audra so she won't leave.  Seth speaks up and "as he wraps his arm around her waist, says,'I'll marry you Audra."  Ethan thinks there IS way too much hugging going on!  Rafe speaks up and says, "Not you Seth.  Ethan."
After the shock but not before the longing Ethan agrees to marry Audra.  This is just the beginning of a great story with twists and turns and a few blushes that make the world of cowboys and hard work seem like child's play.
I must admit that even though I liked Julia and Rafe's story in book one I love Audra and Ethan's even more....oh!so!good!
