Book Description: Grace Graham is back in Tennessee with her four-year-old son on a short unpaid leave from work, helping her father recover from surgery and spending time with her sister.

My Review: Ever have one of those days, months or years where everything seems to be falling a part? Grace Graham takes an unpaid leave of absence from work to help out "back home." She is beginning to feel the effects of helping her father as he recovers from a necessary surgery and trying to make amends with her sister when her son, Dylan, begins to lay around, breaks out in rash and is running a fever.
Grace's neighbor sees Dylan and believes he has measles. Grace has done some research and measles are pretty rare. She has also taken the organic way of life...eating fresh farm.raised.without.pesticides veggies and fruits. After research she is convinced that shots have created autism in children; therefore, being sceptical of doctors and vaccines Grace did not have her son, Dylan, vaccinated when he was a baby. So, Grace gives Dylan some Tylenol for his fever. But he's still sick. Grace calls the local doctor who informs Grace that he will have to take a blood sample to understand what is causing Dylan to be sick. OOOPS! Dylan has the measles! The whole town is put under a quarantine! Neighbors become angry! Blaming Grace for her thoughtlessness and uncaring ways!
This book tackles an interesting and thought provoking issue-to vaccinate or not to vaccinate! Is it better for a child to be healthy or do vaccines truly cause autism? The author writes a great story! It's easy to sympathize with both sides in this issue of vaccines.

About the Author: Kathryn Cushman is a graduate of Samford University with a degree in pharmacy. After practicing as a pharmacist, she left her career to marry and begin a family and has since pursued her dream of writing.

It’s a beautiful place and Kathryn feels blessed to be there (although a seventy degree Christmas still leaves her dreaming of a white one—or at least a colder one!)
