The Legend of the Sand Dollar, Newly Illustrated Edition: An Inspirational Story of Hope for Easter by Chris Auer (Author), Richard Cowdrey (Illustrator)

Book Description:  This newly illustrated edition of The Legend of the Sand Dollar renews the wonder and charm of the original and timeless tale written by Chris Auer. With new vibrant artwork from Bad Dog, Marleyillustrator, Richard Cowdrey, this holiday classic is brought to life for a new generation. The Legend of the Sand Dollar tells the story of Kerry, as her cousin Jack reveals to her the deeper meaning of Easter hidden within something as small as a sand dollar. This Easter tale reminds everyone everywhere that when Jesus died for us and was resurrected, he promised hope for all.

My Thoughts:  I love, love children's books!  Especially the books that not only have wonderful illustrations but a great story line, too.
This is the newly illustrated edition...you may notice that the front cover is updated and all of the illustrations in the book are different than the original book.
I love this updated version.  Of course, I've always thought the story was nice and inspirational.
Kerry and her cousin, Jack, and the sweet puppy take a short trip on their "pond" in Jack's small boat.
When they come to the beach they find a sand dollar and Jack tells Kerry "the greatest story of all" about what the sand dollar means.
This is a delightful book.  And the illustrations are so nice and real.
I especially love the following picture taken directly out of the book:
And children LOVE this story!
The class I read it to, sat in rapt attention.
And it makes a lovely gift for Easter or spring!
