A Path Toward Love by Cara Lynn James

Book Description:  Katherine came home to forget her past.
The last thing she expected is a hopeful future.
Young widow Katherine Osborne returns to her family’s rustic camp on Raquette Lake in the Adirondack Mountains. She’s determined to live a quiet life, but her socialite mother is equally determined to push her into a new marriage while she’s still young.
Andrew Townsend has known Katherine since they were children. An attorney who is successful, but not wealthy, he knows she is socially out of his reach. But he’s curious what changed the free-spirited girl he once knew into this private, somber young woman.
Katherine has kept hidden the details of her unsuccessful marriage. When past sins come to light, she must turn to God for the courage to be honest. But how can she trust the God she feels has let her down? When she confides in Andrew, their relationship takes a dramatic turn into uncharted territory.
Amid impossible obstacles, two young people must learn to trust enough to walk the path that God has cleared for them. A path that leads to healing and restoration. A path toward love.

My Review:  Why is that when events in your life begin to take a down ward hurl that is when God is working to make you a better person and bring "things" to light that have been in the dark past?
Well, this is  Katherine's life.  She has an unsuccessful business with all her hopes lying in wait for that loan from the bank to help her business make it through.  When she receives a letter from her sister that her father will be visiting her, today!, accompanied by Andrew Townsend. Ah! Andrew! her past love!  But Katherine has some hidden things in her past.
Papa arrives and Katherine is so happy to see him!  And then Andrew, well, with the past behind them can their attraction which seems not so in the past carry them to a new relationship?
As the story continues Katherine must come to grips with a past that seems to be quickly catching up with her.  All those secrets make her want to run and hide but she knows that secrets have a way of making or breaking a person.
Katherine feels that Andrew might understand her past and confides in him....this is where the path toward love begins.  Andrew and Katherine must both trust God to lead them on path that they have neither walked before.
A nice, romantic read without undo hysterics or unnecessary love scenes of heated romance.
If you love a great Christian romance with a few twists and turns then don't miss this great romance!
